Overview
IIT Alumni Association New Zealand Inc. (IITAANZ) complies with the Privacy Act 2020. We collect only information necessary for membership administration and community engagement.
What we collect
- Name, email address, and contact details
- IIT campus, degree, and graduation year (for membership verification)
- City/region and chapter affiliation
- Membership status and payment records
- Portal activity necessary for community features (events, messages)
How we use your data
- Administer membership and maintain the statutory member register
- Communicate about events, AGMs, and society business
- Enable networking features on the member portal
- Meet legal obligations under the Incorporated Societies Act 2022
We do not sell or commercially exploit member data.
Data storage
Member data on our community platform (iitnz.netndata.com) is self-hosted in New Zealand. This public website (www.iitaa.nz) does not store personal information beyond what you submit via contact forms once connected to a backend service.
Your rights
Under the Privacy Act 2020, you have the right to:
- Request access to your personal information
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Export your profile data via self-service tools on the member portal
